Hi, I’m Ele and this is my personal cooking blog, where I write about my adventures and misadventures as an ecotarian foodie.

A 26-year-old fashion industry escapee, I am passionate about all things related to design, green issues and food (not to mention musical theatre and reality TV). Originally from Ottawa, Canada, I now live with my British boyfriend and a leather hippo in London, England.

In addition to Kitchenist I also write two other blogs; Kitchenisms is where I post all my kitchen-related design finds, and Kitchlit is my cookbook review blog.

My site

I started Kitchenist to document and share my cooking adventures. As well as a huge foodie, I’m a bit of an eco-nag (sorry), so my diet is largely vegetarian. I’m concerned with the environmental impact of global food production, so I try to choose local, organic and sustainable ingredients whenever possible. I love being creative in the kitchen, and am always trying new recipes and developing my own.

My shop

Kitchenist has its very own amazon affiliate shop, containing items I use in my own kitchen (or wish I did) currently available through amazon. The shop is automatically updated with current prices, and directs you through to the regular amazon checkout, making it as safe as houses.
