The Kitchenist network brings together three separate sites: Kitchenist, which follows the adventures and misadventures of an ecotarian foodie; Kitchenisms, which showcases kitchen-related design finds; and Kitchlit, where you can find honest cookbook reviews.

About Me

I’m Ele, a 27-year-old Interior Designer, eco-nag and passionate foodie. Originally from Ottawa, Canada, I’ve been living in London, England for nearly five years now. I started Kitchenist in March 2009 to document and share my interest in cooking, design and green living.

The food you’ll find here is largely vegetarian. I’m concerned with the environmental impact of global food production, so I also try to choose local, organic and sustainable ingredients whenever possible. I love being creative in the kitchen, and am always trying new recipes and developing my own.

Kitchenist has been featured in some amazing places, around the web and beyond. In July 2010 I was a guest on BBC Radio 4′s The Food Programme, speaking about food blogging and photography. I’ve been a guest curator on Etsy’s blog The Storque, and have contributed to Apartment Therapy’s food blog, The Kitchn. In February 2011 I was a featured blogger in MOTIF magazine’s second issue.

You can also find me on Twitter, Pinterest, and on my professional design site,
