Maya- That sounds so good! Too bad earlier today I cubed, steamed and mashed that entire pumpkin for baked goods. There's always next week, though ;)

Twistie- The lasagne recipe is huge, so I get where you're coming from! I'm going to make mine considerably smaller if I do make it. I haven't looked at The Savory Way before, but I'll check it out.

Dana- Yay! You might regret that one day when two random hungry girls show up at your house ;)

I know what you mean about making old favourites- sometimes I spend so much time trying "new" things for the blog that I forget about all the boring-yet-delicious things I've been making for years. It's nice to return to those now and then.

We've missed you here! Thank you for leaving the all-time most lovely comment on my blog. I will cook for you and Hilary any time!

I am taking it slow this week after a cooking marathon last week. Trying out a couple of things but otherwise making easy old favorites. My husband forgot to pick up our CSA box so I don't have any super-inspiring vegetables and actually, that's ok with my this week. :)

You know, I've eyed that Nigella recipe before. The only thing stopping me making it is that Mr. Twistie refuses to consider that pumpkin can go in anything but pie, and a whole lasagna is way too much for me on my own. Sigh.

Tonight's dinner will be a nice pot roast. Simple, but tasty and satisfying.

My most recent kitchen triumph was a fabulous recipe out of Deborah Madison's The Savory Way for a lovely dish of brown rice with fennel and leeks and fontina cheese. Beyond delectable. Oh, and the homemade pesto topped with roasted cherry tomatoes was also quite successful. Best of all, every recipe was ridiculously simple to make.

Dawn- I'm really looking forward to cooking the pumpkin! It will be an adventure. Hmm, that's sad, isn't it? ;) I've always thought of making that chocolate stack cake, but it seems so rich!

Hil- Cabbage griddle cakes sound nice, where's the recipe from? Yes, the market was gorgeous today- so sunny and bright and bustling.

Rose- I'm feeling much better, thanks. The gnocchi thing is weird. Sometimes they'll turn out great, all light and tender, and the next time, completely inexplicably, they'll be inedible! I also keep trying different recipes, which might be the problem. Do you have a fail-safe one to recommend?

Hope you are feeling better!? Sometimes the blogging process is slow or non-existent! Nothing wrong with that! I'm either on a roll or completely lagging in my posts.

Vegetables look delish! I used to have a love hate relationship with gnocchi too, keep at it! you'll get there :)

Hmmm, and I also bought two carrots. And one of the 75p pumpkins. Clearly taste is genetic.
