Natasha- Hey! I didn’t know you were a regular reader :) I’m so glad you like the sweet stuff, though I try to limit my baking to once a week.

Haha, your story about preheating your oven terrifies me. You know the SATC episode where Carrie says “I store sweaters in my oven”? Every time I see that one I get scared, thinking “What if she decides to bake something and forgets to take out her clothes!?” Not that I have much to worry about, considering that it’s Carrie. And that she’s fictitious.

Eleanor – I follow your blog regularly and I am fascinated with the incredible dishes you create and prepare… Truth be told, it’s the sweets you make that actually leave me daydreaming.

Pumpkin and chocolate… AMAZING ! These look so incredible, and could actually sway me into attempting to bake them (no easy feat since my first attempt in baking cookies left a bunch of pots and pans glowing red in the oven… I learned very quickly to never preheat an oven without checking what’s in it first.)

I made pumpkin ones for my clients last year and they went crazy over them. I didn’t really understand until I tasted one – sooo good! Yours look perfect.

Kristina- This is the first time I’ve ever made them, and I thought it turned out well. I’ve never had a “real” one though, so I’m not really sure how they should be. They sure are huge, though- half of one is a big treat!

Maya- Haha- suuuure you don’t remember. Whooping cough is serious stuff, Maya! I was highly contagious!

I think the cocoa helps them look nice- when they’re darker, there’s more of a delicious contrast with the icing.

I have no recollection whatsoever these high school acts you accuse me of. Although I remember your whooping cough. You were at home for so long because of a cough! That whole “illness” still makes no sense to me.

Your pies looks much more delicious than mine. Nice addition of cinnamon to the icing. Yum!

I love whoopie pies and these look delicious! I too bookmarked several recipes for pumpkin whoopie pies last year and never got round to making them. Must get in gear! And looking forward to more pumpkin recipes… K x
